Are you over skype? Just because you don’t find it cool enough now maybe because of its prices or vulnerabilities. There are plenty of alternatives for Skype, which you can start to use.
Gizmo Project is an open-source VoIP software that allows free calls worldwide, SIPphone.com, is a website that offering more complex, business-oriented tools that you can use with Gizmo’s protocols, including PSTN (public switched telephone network) gateways, voice mail and SIP .

Gizmo has plenty of features like IM and you can record conversations. The rate for Gizmo Call Out is 1.9 cents per minute. It is available on Windows, Linux and Mac platforms.
Another popular PC to PC calling option is Google Talk. Google Talk Client is currently available for Windows and Blackberry devices. It does not work on Linux and Mac OS X platforms yet.
Jajah became a viral application to make free PC-to-PC VoIP calls and allows you to make 1000 minutes per month of free calls to and from landline phones.
Jajah works on freeriding model, as long as you use Jajah within allowed limit and reasonably you can enjoy this service for free. If you exceed they will prompt you to upgrade to premium service. It also works on Mac OS X.
I have been using VoipBuster from last one year and it works just fine, it offers unlimited free calls for a reasonably low price. You can buy credits, and on certain occasions called Freedays you can even get 300 minutes per week of free calls to landlines in several countries, including cellular phones in the USA. Voip Buster is advertising free calls illusion. However they are just providing very low rates for calling.
Vbuzzer is also providing PC-to-PC voice VoIP-based calling, faxing and videoconferencing for free. They have reasonable rate for landlines and mobile phones worldwide at 1.5 cents per minute to the U.S., Canada and China and 1.7 cents per minute for other countries. It is available only for Windows 2000 and XP platform.
For the MAC user, iChat functions same as Skype, it integrates with iSight video camera. iChat AV for Mac OS X 10.4 can be used for a high quality video conference.
Another cheaper and better option like Voipbuster is SightSpeed which provides free PC-to-PC voice calling and videoconferencing with both subscribers and non subscribers of sightspeed at just $4.95 per month. You can even get video-mail recording and multiparty videoconferencing for additional price. This works on both Windows and MAC platform.
