T-Mobile subscribers will certainly have a reason to be jolly as the Samsung T929 Memoir  which is destined for T-Mobile has just been approved by the FCC giving subscribers an option of an 8-megapixel camera phone. It will be launched by T-Mobile since it features 1700 MHz HSDPA connectivity under the name T929 Memoir.

Codenamed Memoir or Leica , it is seen as T-Mobile’s version of the M8800 or the Pixon, not only because it packs the same 8 Megapixel camera as others but mostly because it will be running on the 1700 MHz HSDPA connectivity network  which can only be adhered to T-Mobile. In addition, this Quadband GSM /EDGE phone will also be featuring the flash and autofocus capabilities as confirmed on top of the camera.

Other than the Bluetooth 2.0 support, the MP3 player, touchscreen display and the A-GPS support, there isn’t any useful piece of information left regarding the T929.Not even the Wi-Fi capabilities have been confirmed, but since it is said to replace the Pixon, it’s safe to assume that it is going to pack plenty more features. The Samsung Pixon was also approved by the FCC and will probably be released by AT&T.

The Samsung T929 is set to be launched sometime in February 2009. The pricing availabilities are far from being released for the moment but should you be interested anyway keep an eye out for details regarding this handset.
