Mobile web browsers differ greatly in terms of features and the overall browsing experience. The best ones can scale down the webpages without compromising on omitting thee useful elements and information while there are also few which offer page zoom and keyboard shortcuts among other host of features. Let’s take a look at the most popular web browser for mobile phones.

Opera Mobile: The Opera latest version Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta is made for smart phones based on Windows Mobile, LINUX and UIQ platform. It also claims to load pages 2.5 faster than the rival Microsoft Mobile Internet explorer.

Google Android: Android’s browser is a good job at rendering complex web pages, but it doesn’t have Flash support and it’s relatively less responsive. You can zoom in, zoom out and move inside a web page. The Google Android comes with touch screen interface and it is compatible with Google’s Android operating system alone.

Opera Mini: Opera also offers a simpler mobile browser called Opera Mini, that works with any phone. It does have a sleek interface for zooming in and out of web pages. It’s  a java application that provides browser support for cell phones that are unable to use a true web browser. Unlike traditional browsers, web pages are first filtered through the Opera servers where they are compressed and optimized for display on a mobile device. It is free.

Skyfire: Skyfire is the first mobile browser which supports flash 9 which means it can also handle flash videos we see on youtube just like the way we see it on desktop pc. Skyfire supports Window Mobile with full QWERTY Keyboards and Symbian operating system. It is free web browser.

Mozilla’s Minimo: Minimo 0.2 is a advanced web browser which has been released by mozilla for a free download. It uses the Mozilla Technologies for a highly configurable web browser and comes with advanced features such as Tabbed browsing, RSS Support, widgets and extension support and even social bookmarking. It is compatible with windows mobile .

Blazer: Blazer is a free web browser available for palm handhelds running palm operating system. The salient features of Blazer includes faster downloading, an improved user interface and VPN with an extra plug-in. It supporta web standards including HTML, XHTML, WML, SSL, Java Script, CSS and cookies.

Safari: The  Safari browser on the iPhone is the most advanced web browser that will show people that there’s a lot more to the mobile Internet than the WAP version they are used to. It gets a closer look at any web pages by zooming in and out with a tap or a pinch. You can view websites in portrait and landscape mode. It comes with a excellent touch based user interface.

S60 3rd edition browser is available in all the high-end handsets of Nokia and it provides browsing experience in comparison to Opera. It is a great web browser with some very useful features. You can zoom in a particular part of the web page and can scroll up and down or left and right to see the complete web page. I did face some problems while opening different windows though but a very good browser otherwise.
