Apple Release MobileMe iDisk Iphone Application

Published in Apple iPhone by Jyoti

Apple release a  Mobile iDisk iphone application recently.  With the iDisk app, you can view supported files like documents, PDFs, even stream music and movies and remotely delete stuff from your iDisk. An annoying quirk, though, is that you have to dive into every folder individually to get it to refresh and show any new files. Document and PDF viewing work perfectly. With music and movies, the better the connection, the better the streaming experience, though don’t expect to stream your whole iTunes library over it, it’s a one song at a time kind of deal. And the movie file support is finicky, to say the least. But when it works, it’s pretty nice.

MobileMe iDisk is accessible from any web browser, Mac or PC, at me.com. With a familiar, intuitive interface, uploading and organizing files is as simple as drag and drop. And if you use a Mac, you can find iDisk right in the Mac OS X Finder.

You can already access your iDisk online at me.com. And now you can access it right from your iPhone or iPod touch. Free for MobileMe members, the iDisk app for iPhone and iPod touch makes your important files accessible anytime, anywhere. View popular file types, such as Microsoft Office and iWork ’09 documents and presentations, PDFs, and more, in portrait or landscape. Share any file, big or small, with just a few taps. And access files in the Public folders of other MobileMe members just as easily.

The good thing of the  iphone application as a manager is that it makes it incredibly easy to share file go to the file you want to share, click the little wireless icon, and you can email a link to it with an expiration date you set. It also has a bookmark list of your friends’ public folders, you can quickly get back to them.
