AT&T Announces Samsung i637 Jack Smartphone

AT&T and Samsung have announced the i637 Jack, a smartphone successor to the BlackJack and BlackJack II. Like its predecessors, the Jack features a stylish full-QWERTY keyboard, 3G data connectivity and Windows Mobile 6.1. The Jack has upped the ante with a few new features as well.

Multitasking shouldn’t be a problem with the Samsung Jack it features 256MB of RAM. Of course, the device comes standard with all the amenities of Windows Mobile 6.1, including Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile and threaded text messaging.

Users can snap pictures or record video with a 3.2 megapixel camera or listen to music with Windows Media Player and microSD support for cards carrying up to 16GB of data. Access to XM Radio Mobile and Cellular Video is also provided.

If they can’t get a good cellular connection, users can login to a local wireless network with the device’s WiFi technology. AGPS is included so users can find their way with AT&T Navigator.

The Samsung Jack will be available on May 19 for $99.99 after a two-year service agreement and mail-in rebate.
