Sony is patenting a simple way to make car to car communication this possible. It could even let traffic lights pass messages to your car, perhaps to let you know just how long one has to wait.

The system will be built on high-power LEDs integrated into car headlights. These will produce an apparently continuous beam that is in fact flashing very rapidly to communicate encoded messages. Other cars will have respective decoders.

Sounds Totally Possible..it is 2 sides though -this could help in sending emergency messages via many different cars to a police vehicle or ambulance, where as it can also develop a way on road communication .. making friends onroute or display rage
