If you are a regular reader on Realgeek then you might have realized my love for Firefox extensions by now. I use whole lot of them and Cooliris happens to be the one that I have used and enjoyed a lot. This extension basically lets you browse selected websites in a full screen, 3 Dimensional mode which makes the whole browsing experience quite unique.
Cooliris was formerly called PicLens and was only available to the Firefox and Internet Explorer users till now. They have now created the extension for Mac Safari as well which is further reiteration of developer community striving hard to bring their applications to the reach of Mac users. There is no difference between the Safari version and the Firefox version.

Cooloris 1.8 makes browsing a breeze with its 3D wall which gives you a pretty techno feel. It is actually the kind of extension you will never know about unless you’ll try it first hand. You can download the extension from its home site, Cooliris which also takes you through a demo to get you a better perspective before using it.I tend to use it when I just want the relevant content without any clutches like toolbars and ads. Cooliris supports a number of popular sites like Youtube, Google Image Search, Flickr, Myspace, Friendster, Deviantart and Smugmug. There are many other sites it supports and you can see the full list on its webpage.
I like a new feature which they updated few weeks back where they have tried to give it more social touch by an option called “Discover” which lets you surf the latest International and Sports News, Science and Technology stuff, Hollywood gossips, Movie trailers etc.
They do have one more extension called CoolPreviews which is also good but I prefer another add-on called Interclue over it.
Thanks Luna for the tip.
