Create your own Nokia S60 theme

Published in Nokia by Aditi Tuteja

Nokia series 60 handsets are very much customizable, you can change the look of you cell phone as you desire, you can use different graphics for everything be it the clock, battery, signal, icons and the background wallpaper can be customized.

There’s a huge number of web resources who are giving away themes for Nokia phones, however, they may carry their own logo, watermark etc.

For those of you who own a Nokia phone and want to make your own theme, you’ll need to download the Nokia Theme Creator tool from here. There are many more theme creator tools both offline and online but I prefer the one endorsed by Nokia.

Once you have downloaded the Carbide.ui S60 Theme Edition. Initially it will ask for the directory where you want to save your work. After that it will open the Carbide welcome screen where you can choose tasks like “Create Theme” or open an existing theme. This has a great theme editor, which is very simple to use and you can do wonders with it.

Try to use good backgrounds and bright, sharp images for icons etc. Once you start editing background pictures, you will need to set the bitmap editor on the Preferences panel which you can use MSpaint or Adobe Photoshop. Every item on the theme is editable. All you have to do is select the icon/image and export it to bitmap editor and alter it as you like. After editing the colors and background pictures, export the file so you can now install it on your phone.

Here are some cool graphics used on following theme screenshots
