del.icio.us is now delicious

Published in Web 2.0 by sushaantu

Del.icio.us 2 has now finally seen the light of the day. The site which claims to have the largest collection of bookmarks in the universe has adopted quite a few changes which are mostly positive from the user point of view. The site has a an intro on the top which will stay for some time but you can manually hide it if you don’t like it.

Notable changes in the new delicious are:

  • The URL has been changed from del.icio.us to delicious.com which meas users won’t have to type in those spellings with extra dots at unusual places.
  • The pages of delicious now loads faster and the delicious blog says that it is because of the new infrastructure that the site has become lot more responsive and reliable.
  • The site has completely overhauled its interface and it now looks better. One reason that I wasn’t the huge fan of delicious earlier was its rough interface.
  • The search has been improved which allows you to search within certain tags, bookmarks saved delicious member or your social network.

See the following video posted on flickr about the transformation of delicious.
