Upload Videos on Flickr

Published in Blogging by Jyoti

Flickr users can now add video clips alongside their photos a much requested and a anticipated features  that has been promised for over a year.  In other words, both free and Pro members can now upload and share short videos using Flickr.

There are still some limitations. Free members can only upload 2 videos a month and those videos can only be in standard definition. On the other hand Flickr Pro users,  can upload high definition videos. Videos are treated the same way as photos and are placed alongside those photos in albums and the main stream. Videos can also be tagged (and geotagged) in the same way as photos.

The video player itself is extremely clean, so videos look like photos on pages that include them. Another great feature is the ability to play the videos from the thumbnail screen as well as the permanent page for the video.

Other standard Flickr features are also available for video, such as search by tags and descriptions, uploads directly from camera phones, and various licensing options. So if you’ve got a Flickr account and want to share short videos in addition to photos, Flickr’s now an option for everyone. Or you could just use YouTube, Blip.tv, Vimeo, Viddler, or any of dozens of other online video sites that don’t impost upload limits and time limits.
