128Kbps files won't play

Posted: 02-19-2004, 03:46 AM
Hi
I am having problems with some of my music files not playing. What I have noticed is that any wma files that are 128Kbps bit rate will not play, while the files that are at 64Kbps bit rate play fine. Is there a way to solve this problem or is there a way to change the 128kbps files to 64kbps

Thank

You did not state what media player you are using - Jukebox, Musicbox, Real-player, WMP, etc???
64kbps = radio qualit
96kbps = near CD qualit
128kbps = CD qualit
If you use Jukebox Musicmatch, you can change it under tools/options/settings

I just solved my own problem. I just upgraded a new computer and copied the files to the new computer using file and print sharing. Anyways, it turned out to be a licensing issue and I just migrated the license to the new computer and now everthing works fine. It is strange it didn't prompt for the license yesterday though

Anyways thanks for the help.

Hi,

if it's anything like the problem I had a last year you
may be trying to play broadband band width files on a
dial-up connection. It's a bit like trying to put 2
pints of water into a 1 pint jug - does n't go.

Does anyone know anything about curring distorted
playback. I get terrible distortion when streaming and
occasionally when playing CDs in realplayer and windows
media 9 player.

Thanks

George, to cure your problems is very simple. Get away from WMP9 an
especially RealPlayer. Use programs such as MusicMatch Jukebox, o
even a free one: WinAmp are lots better. Try the free one below, it is excellent
