Hey John,

Most likely, unless you are running Windows 2000
Datacenter or Windows Server 2003 Enterprise on an
Itanium/Opteron/other 64-bit CPU, you are running 32-
bit. The only reason you would be using 64-bit edition
is if you had a 64-bit processor, and if that's the case,
you cannot use 32-bit windows on it.

Deryck,

The current Windows XP 64-bit Edition Version 2003 will ONLY run on an Intel
Itanium II CPU.
The 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2003 will also only run on Intel
Itanium II CPUs.
There are significant differences between 64 and 32 bit CPUs. It is not
like an AMD 32-bit processor being able to run Intel x86 code.
Support for AMD64/Opteron in the Windows Server 2003 product is scheduled
for later.

Mike,

Dang, didn't know about the Opteron not being supported
yet. Well, that sucks because I was going to buy one for
my machine and run 2003.

Deryck,

Hold on until we ship Windows Server 2003 SP1, I believe it may be around
that time frame that the AMD64/Opteron support is added (no official dates
yet)

I'd bet that if you have to ask, you're running 32-bit.

First, we need to know what version of the Caps Lock Key are you
running: On or off. I'd say ON. Pry that sucker off your keyboard
and crush it with a hammer; you'll find that YELLING on usenet is
considered bad manners.

To answer your question: if you have to ask, then you are not using
the 64-bit version. You'd remember the serious thousands of dollars
you shelled out to purchase the hardware/software.
