32bit apps will run insiade of a 64bit enviroment, however 64bit apps willnot in a 32bit enviroment!

There are a lot of changes in Vista, both x86and x64. Therefore there are many things that
can affect whether a 32-bit program will run on
x64 or even x86.
In Vista x64 the WOW64 is the compatibility
layer for this, the same as Win x64, but 16-bit
installers will prevent any program from being
installed because there is no 16-bit support in x64.
