About RamDisk

Posted: 05-08-2004, 10:16 AM
Hi, after the primary partition of my target device is protected by EWF RAM Overlay, I want to make a ramdisk which range is less than 32M to hold the temporary folders and files which are needed by the OS.
There is a "Ram Disk" component, but it can not help me to reach this purpose
I can get some free ramdisk tools through internet, but I don't know how to relocate the temporary folders and files to the ramdisk which made by those tools. In view of the size of those tools, I think I can't use those tools finally.
So, I must implement the ramdisk by myself. But I don't know how to start
Your advice is appreciated very much.

Hello Arlin,

"Ram Disk" component is used for RAM boot from SDI file. (remote boot or
custom boot scenarios). So this is a reason why you can't use it.

You need:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;257405

Or solution similar to this.

I hope that this will help you to start.

Regards,
Slobodan
