| I recently installed Windows Vista RC1 Build 5600 on my computer. I happened to install it on the same hard-drive as my previous version of Windows. This moved my old windows file to a file called windows.old. Because I have a new windows folder I have to re-install all my programs. However when I tried to access an .exe file I got a error message saying (You don't have permision to open this file. Contact the file owner or an administator to obtain permision.) I am already the administrator and have uac disabled. I would just download the file again, but now I can't even delete it, this presents a problem as it is about 2gigs. Thanks in advance. | Guest

| Have you checked with the manufacturer of the software to see if they have a Vista-compatible version available? You could try running the software installer with Administrative privileges - right-click on the installer executable and select 'Run as Administrator'. Does the software install correctly then? If it installs ok, but gives 'Access is Denied' messages when running the program, then try running as Administrator - right-click on the program shortcut, select 'Run as Administrator'. If it still doesn't work, then you will have to wait for the manufacturer to produce a Vista-compatible version. -- Jane, not plain 64 bit enabled :-)Batteries not included.
