access denied when creating a local port

Posted: 02-05-2009, 12:39 AM
I have 2 vista PCs with printers attached to each. I can create a local port
on PC 1 and connect to the printer on PC2. When I try to create a local port
on PC 2 to access the printer on PC1, I get an "access is denied" error. PC 1
is a brand new HP with Vista Home premium , SP1 and all the critical updates.
I unistalled the trial version of Norton Internet Security and ran the Norton
removal tool. I set up matching accounts on both PCs, both in the
Administrators group and I disabled the Windows firewall. Could this be
related to some crapware on the new computer? Please help.... Anyone....
