| Is there a way to access a registry of Windows Vista from anothe Windows installation?? | 1. The remote registry service needs to be started on both machines. This can be done from control panel. I believe XP turns it on by default but not in Vista. Network discovery needs to be turned on also on the Vista machine. 2. Logon the remote machine with an account that is an administrator on the host machine. 3. Start regedit, click file and select "Connect Network Registry" and enter the host name of the machine you are trying to connect to. "PersiL" wrote: Quote:
