| I notice Vista doesn't want to let me in to system folders. I was trying to copy outlook express's folders over to vista and do a bit of experimenting. Is there any quick and easy way to get access to everything? -- The Frozen Canuck | Guest

| Try disabling UAP, Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run > type in "MSCONFIG" (without quotes of course) > OK > Tools (tab) > scroll down to "Disable UAP > click Launch (restart system). Try accessing the system folder. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "The Primate" <primate@primate.com> wrote in message news:e7IavewSGHA.4368@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... | I succeeded in doing that by opening Explorer as Administrator. Some folders (such as the "Users\Public" tree) are still protected in this mode, though. -- Pierre Szwarc Paris, France PGP key ID 0x75B5779B ------------------------------------------------ Multitasking: Reading in the bathroom ! ------------------------------------------------ "The Primate" <primate@primate.com> a écrit dans le message de news: e7IavewSGHA.4368@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... |I notice Vista doesn't want to let me in to system folders. | Should the "Users\Public" tree really be 'protected' or should an Administrator have access to it?. "Pierre Szwarc" <pierre_szwarc@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:OkJqGhySGHA.4740@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... Quote:

| IMO any member of the Administrators group should have full access to it, but this isn't the case currently. -- Pierre Szwarc Paris, France PGP key ID 0x75B5779B ------------------------------------------------ Multitasking: Reading in the bathroom ! ------------------------------------------------ "Intel Inside" <REMOVETHISBIT@com> a écrit dans le message de news: e9J9k3BTGHA.5436@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... | Should the "Users\Public" tree really be 'protected' or should an | Administrator have access to it?. | Guest
