Default Access Vista Partition from XP - How?

Hi - what security function do I need to disable in order to access my Vista
Beta 2 Build 5384 partition from my Retail XP Pro SP 2 partition?

Thanks

Joe

What warning or error message are you getting when you attempt to access the
partition that Vista is installed to? Are you able to "see" the Vista
partition from XP?

My favourite so far: Unknown device has been correctly installed.

You'll probably have to go into Vista and update the security ACLs for
that partition to give Everyone rights to its contents.

I should have been clearer. I want to access Documents and Settings on
Vista. I get a pop up message that says something like: Access Denied.
You don't have permission to access this folder.

With online banking in the UK there was an expression along the lines of
"We are all online banker managers now!"

I guess that under Vista we will be able to say something like "We are
all computer administrators now"?

Hi Joe,

In Vista the user profiles are under C:\Users, not C:\Documents and
Settings.

To access the files, you need to take ownership of them as they currently
are locked to the Vista installation. If you have not done this before, see:
http://rickrogers.org/fixes.htm and click the link on taking ownership.
