| I wanted to make another account apart from the administrator account. But the funny thing is that whenever I try to switch accounts, there's a duplicate of each accounts, which in my case adds up to four accounts. (two administrator, two personal account) is there any way i can just simply have two accounts? I've tried erasing, but it's still the same. plz help me~ | Guest

| Many people are having this same problem. The problem has been identified as a conflict between the OmniPass fingerprint reader software and Vista. Here is the latest information posted by another user who fixed the problem. <quote> I contacted OmniPass and you do not have to uninstall the OmniPass Software. I downloaded this file, www.softexinc.com/download/UninstMSPwdProv.exe - ran it re-booted and I only had the 2 ADMIN Accounts I wanted. this seems to be a problem with OmniPass Version 5.00.18 and Vista update, It has been addressed and fixed in Version 5.00.75 which will fix the issue. If you don't the next time you do a Windows Update with Vista you may get the same doubled user accounts again. </quote> You can download the fix from the above link and double click the downloaded file to run the file. You also need to contact OmniPass support or your PC maker to inquire about getting the latest version of the OmniPass software. | Hi Toopay, Even if you are running as an administrator, it does not mean that you are running with administrative privileges. Unless required, you are normally running as a standard user. When you do something that requires administrative privileges, the system asks you to provide them. This is the User Account Control (UAC) in action. If you are running as an administrator, you merely have to confirm that you want to grant that process/application administrative rights. If you are running as a standard user, you will need to provide the account details of a user with administrative privileges. Dwarf "Toopay" wrote: Quote:
