Default account name

When I originally set up my WinXP computer I used my
first name, middle initial, and last name. Although I
log on as the administrator, my files are under
C:\Documents and Settings\Elliott H. Berger. I would
like to change my name to correspond with some other
computers where I just use my last name. I have gone in
under user administration and changed my name but the
name of the file folder did not change. I tried to
change it in explorer and was told it was a system file.

any ideas how to change the name?

thank you.

Indeed. Create a new user account so that the new folder with the
proper name is created. Logon to the new user, then logoff all users
and logon as the Administrator. Copy the old user profile on top of
the new user in the Control Panel > System > Advanced > User profiles

Default Account Name

How do I change an account name and not loose all of the
data in that account? I have change the account in the
user accounts program, but it still has a name when I log
on and in my computer under documents and settings.

Default Account Name

How do I change the name for logon and the account
without creating a new account or loosing all the data?
I have changed the name in the user accounts program and
under my computer, but when I log on it is the old name
and the folder under documents and settings is the old
name. If you have any insight, please let me know.

Thanks
