Default Active Drive

Hi All
Running XP Pro , 2.4 MHZ , 1 Gig memory.
I have 2 hard drives in my PC,XP Pro on hard drive 0 , no operating system
on 1,just formated ntfs,for storage. Disk 0 is C: and disk 1 is D:
In disk management it says D: is active, how do i make C: the active drive.
When i download updates it puts them on D: in the WUtemp folder.
I am afreaid that windows will install anything i install to D:.
Can someone help me out here.
Thanks
