Actual, viable file checking/Scandisk type of programs for XP?

You keep bringing up scandisk. Windows XP doesn't even have scandisk! XP
comes with chkdsk (check disk). Sounds like you really don't have any idea
as to what you are doing! Best get a book, Windows XP for Dummies. I am sure
it exists.

Then you talk about Disk Doctor as if it's part of Windows XP. It is a
component of Norton SystemWorks!

Do you even know how to empty the recycle bin to reclaim the disk space?
Doesn't sound as if you do!

Thank you for your candor. I'm aware it's "CHKDSK" but it's much easier to
call it by its age old name, Scandisk, especially since it has the same
icons and whatnot in the GUI version of it.

Thanks for telling me NORTON Disk Doctor is part of a NORTON utitlity suite.
I didn't know that. I mean, I wondered how the hell it got instealled on my
computer, but now you've cleared up everything for me!

I was SHIFT/Deleting, bypassing the Recycle Bin altogether, and besides, the
Recycle Bin wouldn't hold files 80 gigs in size, it'd give a message along
the lines of "This is too large to store. Delete right away?"

Thanks for playing, but I've been using Windows since 3.11.

And I've solved "2" because Norton turned the "Protected Recycle Bin" on for
ALL drives. Normally after a fresh install of XP, I immediately disable that
on Drive C, but never knew the setting was individual for all the drives.

I still have that pesky file that won't delete, however.

Guess what? Even with shift/delete, the Norton Protected Recycle Bin holds
the space. As I said, empty the recycle Bin in TWO different areas, normal
and NORTON!

Thanks for reading the part where I said I solved problem two.

You can't seem to give any insight into problem one though.

If you were any more retarded, you'd be classified as an amoeba with legs. Get
your sorry ass back in the septic tank with the rest of the shit eating
bacteria.
