adding printers, getting errors...please help..!

In adding either a HP OfficeJet T45xi or HP Laserjet 1100,
I get the followong messages:
1. ktchnsnk.exe has encountered a problem and needs to
close
2. "an error has occurred during the installation of the
device"
3. The RPC server is unavailable
So...I cannot add printers to my emachine T1440, does
anyone have any ideas...thank you so much...Michael
