Administrative User Account

We accidently deleted the adminitrative account for
Windows XP Proffessional and Windows XP will not let me
install or unistall software & etc. How can we add the
administrative account when we forgot what the password
was.

Hi Ralph,

You can't delete built-in accounts and Administrator account is not an
exception.

At the login screen (Welcome Screen?) click Ctrl + Alt + Del quickly twice.
You should now be able to type "Administrator" under Username box and enter
password for Administrator account. You can try with blank password or any
other if you have set it.

Then go to User Accounts in Control Panel make your changes... (e.g. create
new account).

my administrative user account must have been completly
wiped out. My neice's user account is the only account
on the welcome screen. I did ctrl-alt-del 2x and it
still wont let me log on as an admin.

After hitting ctrl+alt+del twice, and the logon screen
comes up, make sure you type in "Administrator".

Also, you can only login as the Admin under safemode with XP Home.
