| I had the same probem and this helped me: Vista Administrator account: accessing right click on "computer" and click on manage. click on "local users and groups", click on "users", click on "administrator" and right click, click on properties. toggle the box marked "account is disabled". this should clear this box. now close all windows. in control panel click on "administrative tools", now click on "local security policy". Local Policies/Security Options in :interactive logon:" enable "Do not display last last user name" In Vista the Administrator account is the only one really that I have been able to tell that really has full access. the get to some places you just have to run apps as Administrator. But at least you will be able to get into the account when you need to. iam bennu http://iamARTevolutions.net "disabled" <disabled@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F6390FC0-790F-4885-9A32-B14ADBA74821@microsoft.com... | I am running VISTA Home Premium and have encountered the following: I have installed a couple of different programs and have later decided to remove them from Control-Panel "add/remove programs", Even though I am the administrator (no one else uses this computer), I get a pop up which tells me they cannot be removed, "See your system administrator" - I AM THE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR! Any help would be appreciated. | Guest

| There should be a screen somewhere that asks you to sign in as the Administer, so try doing that before you do anything else...it might help. Sandy "Cal Marder" wrote: Quote:

| Many others have encountered this problem. The problem is that many XP programs need administrator rights to run, and their programming does not make Vista ask to verify as an administrator. In Vista, like linux, administrator accounts are basic users until they are "admined up". To run a program that does not properly prompt for administrative rights, right click on it and select "Run as Administrator" "mandy" <mandy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:55F77934-3239-4DC4-A321-FEBCFDA675B1@microsoft.com...
