Default Administrator Lost Permissions

Just installed XP Pro over 2000 Pro, and now my
Administrator account has lost permissions. Can't do some
things, like GP Edit, returns error telling me I don't
have rights. Changes to Folders or Task bar don't stick,
as if disabled by Policy. Can't do Windows update. My
regular user account, that also has admin privileges is
fine. Can't find anything in the knowledgebase.

No, nobody responded to this one. One would think the good
folks at MS would write us a KB article on it.
