Adobe Flash Player haunted?

I would go direct to the source (http://www.adobe.com/) and download and
install the latest version there instead of using a plug-in installer.

I did that, and there is a beta that supposedly supports x64, but it doesn't
seem to have an effect. I run the installer - both actually because there is
one for a ActiveX and one for plugins, and both run and still the Flash
download reminder pops up.

I tried that too, it installs very nicely without any errors, but even after
rebooting it still doesnt work. It just tells me to install the latest flash
player every time. Same thing for myspace, youtube, and even MY OWN website
tells me to get the latest version... very weird.
and like Martin said, I've also installed the activeX and the plug in from
adobe. but neither work.

Here it works fine. I have flash9 and Vista RC2 32bit
