Adobe Reader 8 TEMP folder

When I try to install Adobe Reader 8 I get a message saying the TEMP folder
is "full or inaccessible", I get the same thing on two RTM Vista PCs.

UAC disabled? If not try to run the setup as administrator (right click run
as).

Turning of UAC was one of the first things I did when I installed Vista!

Bad move disabling that which is trying to protect you. In normal operation,
there is no reason that UAC needs to be disabled. In any case, you still
need to run the installer with elevated privileges. Do as Ko has suggested.

And that's the reason, Adobe will not install <G>.
Just enable it and try the setup again .

Hi Nigel,

that's a problem with Acrobat Reader 8. During Installation (when the
message appears) search for the unpacked files in C:\Users.... (I don`t
remember the exact path) and copy them to C:\temp. After the original
installation fails and is finished restart the installation from C:\temp.
This will work. I did it several times.

Regards! Thomas

Many thanks, that worked. FYI, the path is:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Netopsystems

Throw Acrobat Reader away and install Foxit Reader... It is much quicker
and saves a lot of space and frayed berves (like when Acrobat wants to
look for an update in the background and you think your machine has hung).

Hi. I had the same problem. My gues is that the problem is in software
security.

Try this, right, mouse button, then security, change the onwer from to to
you. It worked for me.

(don't ask, my guess is that Vista is not applaying the settings to well, I
had the same problem when I tried to open local Sttings foldet)
