Adobe Reader Setup

I can't install Adobe Reader because it says the temp folder is inaccessible
and to check to make sure I have write permissions to the temp folder. How do
I solve this?

Right-click on the Adobe installation file and select "Run as administrator".

It's the same one I already had, still doesn't work.

I had same problem. It has nothing to do with permissions. You have to
install the "certificate" first. I can't remember exactly where, but the
error message is regarding security and somewhere there I discovered that you
need to install the certificate. After that it ran perfect. Surprised
Microsoft never tried it?

Check the Adobe website -- they have a document on how to deal with
this. Sorry I can't give you the link

I did a search and found the solution.
You have to double click the .msi file in the Adobe Reader 8.0 temp folder
to install it, but you have to do it while the error message is still
running, since when you close it the installer deletes the temp files.

Souonds even simpler than the one I remember which involved all sorts of
permission changing and stuff that I don't like getting into!

What you have to do is not use the setup file that is in the temp directory
but use the *.msi file. This is an issue I had awhile back, the setup.exe is
corrupt.
