Re: Advice needed

Do we -- REALLY -- need to warn users that anyone who clicks on the link he
gave in this post will get a new computer?

Because the amount of damage done by the viruses his website hosts is so
great that to all practical purposes, it is not possible to fix a machine he
has hit.

You have to re-format the hard disk and start again. And if you do not know
exactly how, the hidden malware injected in the boot-sector will immediately
take you out again. You have to do a low-level (magnetic!) reformat -- not
only re-created the disk format, you have to re-create the track structure!

So: if you have a compelling need to click that link, make sure you are
using a computer belonging to someone you really really hate! (And pray
that your email address is not amongst the ones on their disk...) :-)

Enjoy!

Umm... You posted this to multiple Macintosh news groups - TEN to be
exact (which is largely frowned upon, BTW). Anyhow, there are ZERO Mac
OS X viruses in the wild, and it's been this way since the very first
release of Mac OS X almost a DECADE ago.

Period. End of story.

If you had advanced your knowledge at all in the past decade or so, you
would have learned about Flash-based Clickjacking, to which the Mac is
equally as vulnerable as any other type of computer.

Oh, and I replaced all the newsgroups you cut off your response. The world
needs to see how out of date you are.

Do I need to add a "Period. End of story" here so you know where this post
ends?

Oh I get it now. So when you said "viruses", you didn't actually *mean*
viruses - you meant click jacking. And we were supposed to somehow read
your mind and know this, I guess.

And when you said "to all practical purposes, it is not possible to fix
a machine he has hit", I suppose you also meant something else. Or are
you actually suggesting that click jacking ruins computers such that
they cannot be fixed? : )

For the record, I never said Macs are somehow magically invulnerable to
attack. My *actual* statement holds true: There are ZERO Mac OS X
viruses in the wild. You can hem and haw all you want, and it will not
change this fact.

First of all, I didn't cut off any news groups in my response. I simply
set followups to a single news group. And I'll continue to do so,
because posting to as many news groups as you are is rude. You're
turning out to be every bit the jackass you make yourself out to be. No
surprises with you!

Second, I'm not out of date at all. Unlike you, I know what the word
"virus" means, and I know what "click jacking" means too - they are in
no possible way similar, except maybe in *your* weak mind. I also know
changing links on a web page through Flash ad IFrames doesn't
irrevocably damage computers.

I know it may *seem* like the rest of the human race is as blissfully
unaware of where posts ends as yourself, but I'm actually well aware of
where a post ends. Thanks for your concern, though.

End of post. (just for you)
