Raid/workstation. Have Gigabyte MB, Award Bios, Promise
Raid. using AMD 760MPX CHIPSETSW/762 & 768CHIPS ON
BRIDGES. Original Sound processor was onboard AC'97.
Computer Manufact. is Vision(man), tech and cust. support
non-existant. The AC'97 from the beginning produced
output from any sorce: CD, dvd, STREAMING, Recorded on
HD's, DISTORTION, CLICKS, CRACKS, SLOW, ETC. Had
replaced stock Vid card ($20 ASUS) with a Radeon 9000
pro. at times when sound distortion greatest Video
would also apppear to still motion, one frame stall. So
install new sound card(Turtle-bch Santa Cruz)Recommended
by AMD for AMD dual cpu's. Problem worse now. un-
installed AC97 in add & remove and in system BIOS. New SC
card has utility to check that board, drivers config, are
installed correctly,Both video and audio are using IRQ17
but xp pro shows no conflicks and therefore doesn't seem
to want me to re-assign one to an empty IRQ.
I've only been on the web a year, I'm a graphics Artist
though I'm sure getting a quick crash course in Computer
anatomy but I'm out of places to look for the problem
