Am I missing something here?

I have been running on build 5384.4 or something like that since the CPP went
on a few months back. Did they release another build or is the RC1 everyone
is referring to actually Beta2?

RC1 is milestone build like BETA 1 and 2 were, it should be available to the
public and persons who received the CPP (BETA 2), sometime this week. RC1
can be considered a major update of the Vista BETA.

A week or so ago Pre-RC1 was released to about 100,000 people - if you got
to the link early you got a copy

Since then, Vista RC1 has been released to a smaller group - not widespread.
However, this week or so, Microsoft plans to release the thing to all CPP
participants - that's a lot of people. It also plans to RE -OPEN the CPP
sometime soon (when?) to enable new participants to sign up. There's even
talk that deals with some magazines will have copies of RC1 attached to
magazine covers ..

Thanks guys for the response on this. I will be much more careful with
deleting my microsoft emails lol.
