AMD X2 Dual Core Optimizer necessary for XP 64 bit ?

Hello,

I also installed AMD X2 Dual Core Optimizer on Windows XP 64 Bit Pro.

The installation didn't go flawless

I deinstalled it but Windows kept asking for drivers kinda annoying.

So deinstallation also didn't go flawless.

I reinstalled the driver and it again after reboot Windows asked the path to
AmdTools64.sys which it couldn't find.

I knew this probably was in:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

and it was... so I pointed it there... and then it did install properly.

My question is:

Is this driver really necessary for Windows XP 64 bit Pro ???

Bye,
Skybuck.
