Another Exchange Connection Problem

Posted: 05-19-2007, 05:32 PM
I have a new Vista Home Premium machine with Office 2007. I also have
another (in a long list of posts) problem with Outlook connecting with my
office's Exchange server through VPN.

I have my laptop (XP-Pro and Office 2003) sitting right next to the new
Vista machine. Both are configured identically. Both have windows firewall
turned on and are running AVG Pro anti-virus. The Vista/Office 2007 machine
takes several hours to eventually connect with the Exchange server. All I
can do is (after establishing the VPN) open Outlook and wait; one, two, maybe
as long as three hours while Outlook tries to connect to Exchange. After it
finally does connect, the connection is stable.

Based on the number of posts on this subject, I believe MS is aware of this
problem but I've not found a fix. Am I missing something? After reading
through what seems like thousands of posts, I haven't run into any fixes. If
anyone has a suggestion, it would be appreciated.

I probably should have followed my initial instincts and waited until MS
introduced Service Pack 1.

Thanks
