sfc /scannow is a tool in XP (and win2k) that is used to verify
all protected (operating system mainly) files.
Each file is scanned, and if found to be damaged, replaced by a correct
version. This tool needs the xp CD, unless a copy of the files already
exists on the harddrive.

Hi - more problems I'm afraid.

Although myAntivirus is now reloaded and most things work properly I
have the problems below:

Because of the previous problems with wkcal.exe, I assume, all my
Works databases now "encounter a problem and need to close" - so I
can't get any information of them.

I don't know whether that media player windows update did anything but
when i run windows media player ie now encounters a problem and needs
to close.

In addition my other media services, real player and quick time player
- have refused to start up or connect to anything. As has the link to
virrgin radio off their web page. Any ideas if anything could cause
all this and if anything can be done about it?

Also my XP came preinstalled so I have no disk. Presumably it will be
preloaded as a command,

Cheers

Dilip
