It sounds like a possible TCP/IP issue conflict with AOL, I would try
contacting AOL about an update for the software and file a bug report.

Does anyone else find it amusing that an AOL user is taking part in a
complex OS beta?

What a short sighted and rude comment, I have had an AOL account since 1992
and don't intend to close it. I don't use AOL as my ISP however. There are
NUMEROUS reasons to have an AOL account...

The reason AOL/Users get those short/acerbic statements is because
of the issues/grief that Technicians and consultants have to endure trying
to work/fix/resolve AOL issues. AOL's biggest problem is the proprietary
nature of their software. It's not a layer/application - it functions like
it's
own little operating system. Try to migrate your AOL data stores to a
"Industry Standard" client - not easy at all. If it (AOL) used existing XP
or Vista features/code to run it wouldn't be a such a problem to work on.

AOL, Symantec & to some degree McAfee are all technician's enemies.
Unfortunately, most times these aspects of those products aren't explained.

My friend, not everyone who is an aol user is a automaton. Some are forced
to use aol by necessity and less knowledgeable users in the household. Save
your condescension .

There were numerous reason I had an AOL account since 94, but I have run out
of them. It just isn't my style.

Is anyone able to get AOL to work?

People have been asking that question for over a decade.
