Applying music folder settings

Is there a easy way of applying "choose details" and folder type (i.e. music
folder) to all folders on a hard drive? Also, can I remove all album art and
stop it from being added at all.

AFAICT, no. It may require some scripting, and even then I suspect that
it wouldn't "stick".

In theory album art files can be deleted. See
http://msmvps.com/thinice/archive/2004/11/14/19085.aspx

In practice they are now protected system files and Windows will replace
them after being deleted. There isn't a way to specifically stop them
being added.
See follow-up post
http://msmvps.com/thinice/archive/2004/11/20/19812.aspx for my own
experiences with Album Art after deleting it.

As far as I am aware, there is no public documentation for any of these
metadata/album-art management features. The WMP Help file is sketchy at
best.

Thanks for the info. Basically I have all my music a H: drive and I want all
the folders on there to be music folders with specific details shown in
details mode. For some reason the current details change randomly and won't
stick. Annoying.

Thanks again.

There are two issues here.
1) Acting as music folder (ie showing media columns and music tasks)
2) Details as default folder view. XP's default number of folders with
remembered settings is ~400 IIRC. Kelly's corner has a script tweak to
increase this number to 8000
(http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm -> tweak #2)

Possibly due to having more than the Windows default number of folders.
WMP adds a lot of numerical folder overhead with the Album Artist\Album
organization scheme. Doesn't take too many albums to exceed those limits.

This seems to be an old post. Most people seem to stop looking after a
day, and some expect an answer as soon as they post their reply.

Neither of the OP's requests require any additional software.
