Aero = air = windows (they had to copy that idea too!)

I guess Ubuntu (with the african theme) shoud get Geo = Earth
and Solaris(sun) should get Pyro= Fire

Sounds to me like a 70's musical group, no wait that was Earth, Wind, and
Fire.

After all of these OS' choose these types of themes, think they'll be able
to summon Captain Planet?

It's a nature conspiracy. They are going to make a LINOSWIN operating system
and call it "World." The All-in-one Operating System. And everyone is going
to be able to create their own open source programs, but will still have to
pay for the rights to use it.

According to one article (sorry forgot the source), Vista will be the end of
OS for this company.

Why? Apple ran out of ideas for new things and this company can't copy
anything, and certainly can't invent any.

People said the same thing about Windows 3.0, 3.11, 95,NT 4.0, 98, 2000, XP,
2003...

And yet Windows marketshare keeps growing and growing.

Never mind the fact that Microsoft is still working on Longhorn server,
Crossbow, and several other projects...

Actually, I don't recall anything said about all those OSes with the
exception of Win 98 (but SE is good though) and Me**.

Longhorn server may be another story and I along with many others do like
the improvements of Windows 2003 server.

Winodws' market share keep growing because most people care less to find
alternatives. Do you know a report (maybe from Mckinsey Consulting, if I
remember correctly) cited "98%" of users don't know what version of Windows
they are using? They only know it's Windows but Windows XXX? No, they
don't know.

I have also done a little test on some "regular" office workers, and little
of them could tell the difference between Office XP and Windows XP. They
only know they're using "XP".

Do you know what's the significance of all these findings?

Once there is a competent alternative and large OEM's and system builders
are willing to bundle it, MS will be out of sight in no time.

But I guess you won't believe.

Well, most people wouldn't believe the same for IBM PC division, Compaq,
Enron, and countless other examples until it happened.

I think vienna, the next OS from MS, will continue the same thing more or
less,
however MS is working on a different kind of OS for after vienna
