ATI Radeon 5500 Driver Not Installing

I've re-installed this driver numerous times and it doesn't seem to work here
with vista.....

Installed the Vista Full driver from ATI's website and no dice! I'm dying to
get this thing to work because the video performance is terrible with this
basic vga driver. Even scrolling up and down on a simple text website is
aggonizing!

Is anybody else having this problem? Anybody solve it?! HELP!
