ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Support

Posted: 09-10-2004, 10:34 PM
Does anyone know if there is XPe support for the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video
card available anywhere? Component, install script, whatever I can find...

I can't get to Xpefiles.com right now, or I would have checked there
already...

While i don't know about versions of the radeon components are on
xpefiles, SP2 will eventually have support for these '9800' drivers
that are also in Pro SP2 today:

RADEON 9800 LE Family
RADEON 9800 LE SEC Family
RADEON 9800 PRO
RADEON 9800 PRO SEC
RADEON 9800 SE Family
RADEON 9800 SE SEC Family
RADEON 9800 XT
RADEON 9800 XT SEC

As happy as I will be when the card is officially supported, I can't wait
until November to get this testbed running. So...if someone knows of a
shortcut, I'd be happy to hear it.

If you extract the drivers using a 3rd party tool like WinRAR you can build
your own component using Component Designer, the inf and the needed driver
files.

To do this go into Component Designer, import the inf, copy the needed
driver files listed in component designer along with the .inf and .cat over
to your Embedded Repository.

Gereon,

Also beside explanation in product documentation and online doc you can use approach described in following thread:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...tngp13.phx.gbl

You will have only to include certain component in your image from MS database and to copy ATI's catalyst files to their folders.

Best regards,
Slobodan

Then read the tip article here on how to componentize a third party driver:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/c...unity/tips/xp/

Or, get Sean Liming's book on ""Windows XP Embedded Advanced".

Componentizing drivers is also discussed in depth within the XPe
documentation.
