audio and sounds

I am running Windows XP and I have four or five drivers installed in my dell
Pentium IV computer that said were all working properly, but when I went to
the dialog box to increase volumn it said, I had no audio device. I am still
slightly a computer illiturate and would appreciate any help I can get to
resolve this problem. Thank you for your time.
