Please help if possible. Here's the situation ...
My HDD died on me a few days ago. Replaced HDD and installed XP Pro SP1. On
previous HDD and install of XP Pro SP1, when I put a music CD in my CD
player icon for DVD/CD-RW Drive would change icon to a pic of a CD with a
music note over it and say "Audio CD (D

". It would automatically AutoPlay
in Windows Media Player 9 because I told it to from "My Computer" --> right
clicking on D: (my DVD/CD-RW drive which is a Toshiba SD-R2212 on an HP
Pavilion xf328 laptop) --> clicking on "AutoPlay" tab --> selecting "Music
CD" from drop-down list --> clicking on radio button under "Actions" that
says "Select an action to perform:" --> and highlighting Play audio CD using
Windows Media Player" --> clicking on Apply & then OK.
When I put a music CD in drive now, it does not even prompt me to select
AutoPlay option. Icon is of a CD and it says "CD Drive (D

". All CD's I
have tried, new & old, are store bought and all tracks end in .cda and show
WMP icon next to track. If I double click on a track, WMP executes and plays
track. I can also begin CD in WMP.
I prefer AutoPlay ... can anybody assist in helping me have XP recognize
Audio CD's so I can have them AutoPlay in WMP? Thank you in advance!
