Default Audio Mixing

Is Window's Movie Maker capable of laying down a variety
of music blending in the same "movie". I have filmed a
wedding and want to have music only that I add. in the
beginning; then the original sound track I imported from
my digital camera into the computer; and finally, a mix
of the original audio track with music that I add in the
end for the recap. I discovered the Audio-levels option
but it seems to only allow me to have a certain blend of
original sound track from the tape to added music for the
entire movie. Not allowing me to splice where I want the
audio/music levels to change. Any suggestions?

If you split your video/audio into sections on the
timeline, you can adjust the relative audio levels
of each section independently.

Default Audio mixing

I'm mixing the level of my the nat sound audio on my video clips from the camera with music from a CD, and even when I separate them into separate clips whatever adjustments I make to the beginning clips revert to the same relative levels that I'm adjusting the later clips to. How do you save what you've already mixed and have the capability of going back and revising and/or adding and mixing new clips without losing prior levels?

Thanks,
Rob

Hello there,

You need to break the audio clip into segments (see the pair of scissors
under the preview window) Cutting the clips in this way has no effect on
the audio, what you end up with are compartments of sound. In each
compartment you make adjustments on sound level. These adjustments will not
be "seen" in any of the other compartments.

John,
Thanks. I assume then that you can't vary the "mix" within the segments. So if you want to gradually change the mix you have to cut the clips each time? A little awkward. We have AVID at work, I'm kind of spoiled.

Hello there,

You have hit the nail on the head. Other programs I have allow you to make
all sorts of changes without the need to cut it up. For the time
being...that's it with MM.

Hi Rob,
I have exactly the same problem as you do and it has been very frustrating.
I can not find any cissors under the review area! The music is already in two
different clip. Why when I change mix level on one clip it is transfered to
other clips?? Please help.

Al

Hi John,
I am a new user and I am having the same problem. The music clips are
already separated into two clips. When I change the level of mix in one it
automatically transfers to all.... I can not find the scissors under the
monitor either. Please help!

Thanks,
Al
