Audio Problems

Posted: 02-25-2007, 04:07 AM
Hey I can't seem to get my 5.1 speakers working in Vista. I'm using the
built in sound card on my Asus A8N SLI Deluxe. Any help on this would be
much appreciated.

Thanks

I recently went from Windows XP to Vista and I have no sound out of my
laptop, unless I hook up my external speakers.

It indicates that no Audio output device is installed.

What do I do, or where can I go to fix this problem?

Cheers,

Visit the support web site of the manufacturer of your
laptop computer and search for the Windows Vista
audio driver designed for your specific laptop model.
Once you find the correct file, download and install it.

you could also try running Windows Update, they often release drivers there,
maybe your soundchip is in there as well...

I came across this with a local client. Ensure that you have the latest
sound drivers installed..

Right click on Windows Media Player black task bar.. select View >
Enhancements > Show Enhancements..

Scroll through the enhancements which should now be showing in a wide black
band. Pay particular attention to 'Play Speed Settings'..
