| On my laptop running Windows Vista Ultimate, I can connect to my schools network, but cannot get internet connectivity. When I use the the built in Network troubleshooting progs the response is that it cannot ping the DNS server. I've tried applying all the settings manually, based on another machine connected wirelessly, but still no go. I can get connection and internet with my other laptop running Windows XP. What I was told to do is to boot up , Windows would find the Network , I then connect to it. After connecting open web browser and after a few moments I would be redirected to a authentication page where I would then put in my user/pass, and I would be on my way. The problem seems to be with this re-direct as the browswer (both IE 7 and FF 2.0) hang and never make it to the authentication (login) page. When I go to manage networks and choose it and check properties everything seems to check out (cause it all on auto). I checked the status on it and it seems to have an IP address that was obtained for the session, 2 DNS's a Default gateway ..yada yada. I have tried turning all the the security settings off including windows firewall to no avail. Any suggestions or links to helpful info would be appreciated. | Guest
