Automatic Login and then Logout

Posted: 04-12-2008, 04:56 PM
Hi everyone!
I have 3 accounts (Mine, my sister, mother). I want that everytime the PC is
turned ON, windows automatically login my account and then automatically
switch user (windows key + L).

I know how to automatically login in my account, but my question is how I
switch user automatically...

Hi Gonzalo,

Maybe I'm missing something, but you can just turn off the automatic
logon to have Vista startup to the startup logon screen with all of the
user icons to select from. This logon screen is the same as the Switch
User screen.

Hope this helps,

Brink, thanks for your answer.
I want to login automatically and then switch user, in order to every time
the PC is turned on, all my programs (within my session) start automatically.
So when I login with my password the first time, I don't have to wait to load
all programs.

Gonzalo,

I see now. It seems like a lot of trouble to save just a bit of time,
but it's your computer and decision after all. There is no way to do
this by default, but you can try this workaround to see if it will work
the way you want it to. When you logon to the other account from the
"Switch User" logon screen, you will still need to wait for it to load
up that user account's startup items though.

1. Create a "Switch User" shortcut using this tutorial.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/13...-shortcut.html

2. Move that shortcut into the Start menu "Startup" folder of the user
account that you have set Vista to automatically logon to. You can see
how to in this tutorial. If Method One does not work, then try Method
Two.

Hope this works for you,
Shawn
