Default Awesome!

I think I'd like to forward compliments to developers and marketers for
making a public beta available.

On this machine Vista 64 bit (at a beta stage) is an awesome experience.

Compliments to all involved

JJS: neither of your conjectures hold although I must admit that a
little Sauvignon Blanc has gone well with the weather today.

As a general rule I endeavour to mean what I say and day what I mean

CTPs and betas are, in my opinion, an incredible way to do things

I hope that the industry sector follows accordingly in best practice mode

Yes indeedy.

For some visual based stuff under XP Pro I had a preference to use a
"big grey" desktop.

I am enthralled by Aero (I guess my credibility now takes an awesome dive?).

Now I seek mutliple desktops under a single user login so i can switch
easily from full aero to "big grey" to online TV if i wish.

maybe an alternative is multiple logins but i don't know how these
observe single user EULA protocols and paradigms. [ ]

I sure wish they still had Clippy and his friends in Word. Clippy helped me
learn Word and I could sure use his help in Word 2007.

Agreed - Help seems obviously lacking in Word 2007 (where is it? First
user stumbling block?)

But there again, the white on blue question mark does seem obvious even
in Excel?

For what it is worth: in my daytime job (online tutoring of IT
application software) i see an increasing trend of first time users
straight into XP Home with broadband and they seem to enthuse.

Yes, the blue question mark is there, but Clippy is an active helper.

I appreciate that a user has to put in at least some modicum of effort
to progress into proficiency.
