B0g standard floppy drive.

Posted: 02-17-2007, 12:32 PM
Hi guys,

Back in build 5600...when I started building my machine, I decided that it
was a good idea to have a perfectly normal looking 3.5" floppy drive.

Now - BIOS reports it normally, even the new version of device manager
reports it normally.

When I try to access it, it reckons that the disk in drive A: is not
formatted would I like to format it now? I reckon that's kewl, it has a
hissy fit and after a few minutes' worth of hanging, eventually reports that
Windows Explorer has stopped working. Possibly on strike being asked to
actually access an obsolete piece of hardware?

Is this normal behaviour for Vista, or have I missed something / have a
dodgy floppy drive?

TIA,
--
'Kay,
Chiz!
Chas.
