| I have upgraded to Windows XP pro from Windows 98, and am functioning well in it. (To work in and print from my DOS word processor I installed a program that creates a virtual guest Windows 98 and it works.) So I wonder whether I would benefit my functioning (I have 52 % free space) if I deleted the Backup files for my previous operating system. 348,434 K are involved. | Guest

do not affect functioning. As you appear to be happy with Windows XP, you can remove the files. However, do not delete them in Windows Explorer. Instead, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. You should find a entry for removing old operating system files. Use that. Don | Guest
